The colour comes from the heat, and it always shows on polished metal. I think it is a natural thing and belongs to the look of the bike, but if you don't like it, polish it away with a piece of wool or felt. Don't use any rough material that will scratch the chrome, nor any strong acids that will harm the surface and take away the gloss.Normal polishing wax is the best, and clean the pipe after waxing with HOT water.
